Center of Excellence for Inquiry in Mathematics and Science Awarded

As part of the Inquiry in Motion Institute, the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education has awarded the Center of Excellence for 2008. The five year award allows efforts to be directed toward improving the amount and quality of inquiry-based instruction that occurs in middle school math and science classrooms around the state. 

Professsional Development Institute for Middle School Teachers: July 2008

Middle school math and science teachers from Beck Academy and Hughes Academy in Greenville County School District (GCSD) will be participating in the Inquiry in Motion Professional Development Institute on July 14-24, 2008. The first week will occur at the CU-ICAR facility, the second week will be held at Beck Academy,  and the follow-up experiences will be held at Hughes Academy during the school year.

Professional Development Institute for Elementary Level Teachers: June 2008

In partnership with Greenville County School District (GCSD), Inquiry in Motion will be offering a Professional Development Institute for elementary science and math teachers on June 16-26, 2008. Half of the experience will occur at the CU-ICAR facility, and the other half will occur in GCSD schools.
